Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 often referred to professionally as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. She released her first EP on the label on October 21st, 2016, titled Pho. This is when she started to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby released her first studio album 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded music online in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013 with the mixtape Five Finger Discount. Ari Lennox continued to upload her tracks online through 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. On 21st of July 2015, Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat it Out.. J. Cole had her sing her songs in the direction of his Dreamville Team later in the year, as he wanted Rihanna to work alongside her on some of the songs. She was officially signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. The singer appeared on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. In the month of October the singer-songwriter released her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018 she guest-starred on two tracks with her label-mates EarthGang to Nothing but the Best. and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. The music video then released in September. The 9th of November saw her release two additional singles titled 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. Then, on November 13 she dropped two more singles entitled The No One as well as Pdigree. She was featured with Cole in her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby On November 16and later she released the song as a single by herself on the album she released her debut. A music video debuted on 20 February 2019 in conjunction with the song. Within one time, it was viewed more than 3 million views. In December 2018, she performed as an opening act for the From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
